Learning Objectives The following are the learning objectives of this session. At the end of this session, the participant will be able to:
• Describe the opioid crisis in the District of Columbia
• Describe what the District of Columbia is doing to combat the crisis
• List different types of opioids, including fentanyl, and their effects
• Discuss signs of addiction • Describe the three Food and Drug Administration approved medication-assisted treatments (MAT)
• Know where to go for treatment and recovery support services
• Give examples of harm reduction • Identify signs of an opioid overdose
• Discuss the benefits of the Good Samaritan Law
