WHO WE ARE
Over an impressive span of more than 27 years, the America’s Islamic Heritage Museum has been at the forefront of preserving and promoting the rich history and contributions of Muslim American communities as well as countering Islamophobic narratives. Our legacy of research, data collection, and storytelling is a testament to our commitment and the success we’ve achieved in this endeavor.
Established in 1996 as the Collections & Stories of American Muslims Inc., and later recognized as a non-profit 501 c3 organization in 2013, we have consistently held our torch high. We stand as a unique global entity, with no other museum of its kind, chronicling the journey of Muslims in America.
Our extensive experience has blessed us with a comprehensive and diverse collection. This treasure trove of artifacts and stories has been the backbone of our successful exhibitions that have spanned across the nation and reached international shores.
For nearly three decades, we have built an impressive repertoire of traveling exhibitions and related programs. This, in turn, has focused the spotlight on the significant history and contributions of Muslim Americans. Our enduring commitment, expertise, and success have established us as a pillar of cultural understanding and bridge-building in a landscape often marred by negative perceptions.

Our first project is to establish a state-of-the-art space for our acclaimed exhibition on the history of Muslims in America. This exciting endeavor will leverage advanced technology to create an immersive, interactive learning environment. We have joined forces with Quatrefoil Associates, a renowned exhibit design firm,to plan, design, and fabricate an engaging and high-tech exhibition. Furthermore, we are working with Urbane Architects to provide architectural and engineering solutions that will seamlessly integrate technology into our museum’s architecture.
The intent is to create an equitable, innovative learning environment that provides deep insights into the narratives of the diverse Muslim American history. Our exhibits will use cutting-edge, interactive technologies to bring these stories to life in a compelling, engaging manner. The goal is not only to educate but also to foster understanding and pride within the diverse Muslim communities in America, creating a bridge of cultural comprehension in the process.
Our second project is to develop a technologically enhanced facility to house our precious artifacts, library, and collection space. This space will also host our main offices, as well as our community service programs and cultural areas. By seamlessly integrating technology into these areas, we aim to create a more enriching, informative, and accessible experience for our visitors and staff alike.
